Today the Root River is high and muddy. I noticed considerably fewer visable islands in the river on my morning commute. It will take some time to recover from this particular run-off event however the stream flow station shows that the river is receding. Rain is forecast this week which may affect the normalizing of the big river.
The creeks are in good shape today. The Caddis are hatching and the wildflowers are blooming. We expect rain this week and morels later in the week.
