2008-02-03, Cable Bay. Day Eighteen.

I drove the half-hour or so west of Nelson in search of Wuakapuaka Stream. From what the stream was described, as it would be similar to fishing in southeast Minnesota. A small stream with smallish trout.
I scouted the stream by car driving down a winding road to the coast aptly named Cable Bay as many power lines ran cross the estuary where the stream met the ocean. The views here were amazing.
I took a walk on the stream to find Rainbow and Brown trout on average of 12-inches. These little guys were not worth even tossing a fly to, as they were not the preverbal New Zealand trout. I headed back to Nelson satisfied with my stream walk and the photos that I had collected from the Cable Bay estuary.
