Creeks are continuing to clear. The southeast region was spared from the winter storm which blew through the northern part of Minnesota. The Driftless was subject subject to snow squalls that blew through quickly.
I found remnant caddis and mayfly nymphs on rocks deep in runs this evening. Most of the silt has been scoured off the rocks on many streams leaving them clean and barren of macro inverts. I am hopeful that we will still have hatches when spring arrives next week.
