Gar, Pike, Catfishes, Mooneye, Redhorse, Dogfish, Bass, Sturgeon, Buffalo, Trout and Carp, amongst other species, can all be readily caught by hook and line angling methods on the Mississippi River today due to the high pressure weather pattern that has been holding for the majority of the past week.

The trick of it is where to find them, how to stay hydrated doing it, and what do they fancy in their mouths today.

I suspect that a shorter drive to the boat landing will afford anglers lucky enough to have a boat more opportunity to find the fish. I recommend being careful to have a variety of baits known to take numerous species of fish prepared for your outing.

Days like today have typically garnished changing bites throughout the day therefor it behooves me to consider catching over non-catch related aspect of angling.
