On the hunt for mayflies today I found none at the usual spot at the Brownsville lookout. Since I was in the neighborhood I decided to hit the lower section of Crooked Creek for trout.

I was stopped by the landowner, who was on top of his tractor, and asked if I was gonna float the creek as I had my canoe on top of my car. I told him that I was gonna just walk the creek. He told me good luck.

The grass was about eight feet tall and fun to walk through. It brought me back to bush whacking through the jungle. All in all I ended up catching a handful of small trout and enjoying my time on the water.
