Today Justin and I headed to the Whitewater System to do some scouting on some water that neither of us had fished previously. Destination, North Branch Whitewater River.
We accessed at the last lot below the minimum maintenance road. We covered nearly one stream mile and found few fish. We felt better about hiking and staying comfortable.
Justin had maps made that gave us a destination point, of which we reached. We decided to give the Middle Branch a shot just to get a quick trout fix, even if it was just a Rainbow.
When we made our hike back to the car the rain had started. We dealt with a freezing windshield on our short drive back to Elba and decided that we ought to head for home before we got iced into the valley.
