I was teaching a class at University to students that were from places other than Winona when the Tornado sirens went off. I have lived here for nearly six years and the sirens have only ever sounded on test day around the first of the month. The storm was coming.

I found Shell in the next office and we headed home racing down Broadway to beat the wall cloud that was fast approaching Winona. We had to get home to get the dogs into the basement while the storm passed.
