Today we had four boats, eight people, and a dog. We launched at the St. Charles boat landing and shot directly across the channel to Aghaming Park. The current was swift and the wind stiff however we all made it across the river safely.
The backwaters were lovely and full of current and mosquitos. We headed toward the park and portaged near the wagon bridge in order to make it to the lagoon.
In the lagoon we started a floatilla, had a paddle your boat with a frisbee contest, and drifted down the lagoon nearer to the main channel.
The current around Spider Island was strong. It was even more intense behind the buoy.
We all made it back safe and sound and enjoyed our short evening paddle across the river.
We caught no fish but did not fish very hard.
