I got out in search of new carp water today. I found them holding in pre-spawn run numbers near the confluence of the Lake that Pleasant Valley Creek drains into and then channels across highway 61 into mud lake before going into the Mississippi. After chumming about 1 can of sweet corn the fish moved in in bigger numbers. This was a site fishing outing for tailing carp. I started using an orange carp squirrel and later switched over to Tony’s corn fly. I landed 3, 32″, 28″, 26″. 2 of which came on the squirrel, 1 on the corn fly. Missed several others on both flies. I was chumming and at one point was surrounded by a horde of at least 50 fish. I fished until the glasses didn’t cut the water anymore. Ihave high hopes for tomorrow!!
